“Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: Safeguarding European Values, Heritage, and Dialogue”

The Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and the European Institute of Cultural Routes, in cooperation with the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism, the Greek National Tourism Organization, the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Chania, the Chambers of Industry and Commerce of Chania, and the Historic Cafes Route are pleased to inform you that the 11thCultural Routes of the Council of Europe Annual Advisory Forum will take place on 5 -7 October 2022 in Chania, Crete, Greece.

This year’s Forum will be devoted to the theme, “Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: Safeguarding European Values, Heritage, and Dialogue”. The Forum will bring together over 400 participants, including representatives from EPA member States, certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and candidate networks, International Organisations, Universities and academic centres, as well as stakeholders from cultural and heritage institutions and the tourism sectors. The 2022 Chania Forum will be the opportunity to underline the growing relevance of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe methodology and practices in promoting Europe’s shared cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue while fostering sustainable local development.

The programme will include general panels with discussion, thematic and special sessions, as well as certification ceremonies for newly 2022 certified “Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe”, accession ceremonies for new member States of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, as well as Best Practices Awards. Guided tours of Chania and the region as well as a rich cultural programme will complement the Forum sessions.

Interpretation of Forum sessions into English, French and Greek will be provided.
