We are pleased to announce that last week we launched the call for the Black Sea Accelerator which aims to support sustainable blue economy solutions in the Black Sea region. The goal is to encourage sustainable and circular innovation in the Black Sea area, facilitated by the Accelerating ‘Industry 4.0’ business models (WP7) and Blue Growth Accelerator-DOORS (WP6).
In this email, you will find the necessary information for you but further communications on this will take place. However, the website is already public and we will tweet about this tomorrow (I will share the link) and please already start to disseminate.
On behalf of coordination, I would like to specifically thank Matteo, Frederik, Patrizio and their teams as they have put tremendous effort and hard work to launch the Accelerator also with very close cooperation DOORS colleagues.
The next steps on this are provided below:
- A joint launch on 3 July 10 - 11 CET about the call where you will get more information on the call (public event)
- We will contact some country representatives to help us with the translation of the call (attached 1-pager) to make it accessible to a wider target group.
- Pack for dissemination (visual and newsletter kinda invitation for you to forward)
The Call welcomes participation from SMEs and startups in the Black Sea region, as well as individuals. Additionally, non-regional applicants who export solutions to the region are also eligible to apply. The Call accepts both emerging and established solutions, which reach Technology Readiness Level 4 and above, in the following areas of collaboration:
- Ocean observation and monitoring
- Ports, Transport & Logistics
- Fisheries & Aquaculture practices
- Tourism and recreational activities
- Blue-biotech and related products
- Sustainable and renewable energy
- Nature-based solutions and services (coastal/marine)
The objective of the call is to provide the following offerings:
- Expert assistance, consultancy support and networking activities;
- Start-up support and valuable business mentoring;
- Tailored training/mentoring of entrepreneurs to bridge the gap between skills’ offer and demand;
- Support for start-ups to reach investors
- Facilitate the access to market

The call is open until 31 October 2023 and interested applicants should fill the application form by then.
