The Permanent International Secretariat of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC PERMIS), in cooperation with the World Bank, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea Against Pollution, are organizing a stakeholder webinar to initiate consultations in Ukraine on the design of “Blueing the Black Sea Programme – a regional initiative to tackle marine pollution in the Black Sea”on 11 March 2021 at 14.00 pm (GMT+2). 

The event will be held in collaboration with the Common Maritime Agenda National Hub of Ukraine. 

The webinar aims to consult the stakeholder community on the pressing issues and priorities in the areas of Black Sea pollution prevention, reduction and the control and the opportunities that emerge in the process. Outcomes of the webinar will inform the architecture and modalities of a planned “Blueing of the Black Sea” (BBSEA) regional project funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). The BBSEA GEF project that is under preparation is aiming to tackle marine pollution and catalyse blue economy investments in the Black Sea region. This information will also feed into a national and regional pollution diagnostic that will form the baseline for the actions. 

This virtual public event will also be broadcasted on Facebook. The working languages of the event will be English and Ukrainian.
